Speedrun

Also called: speedrunning, any% run

The whole point is the clock. Runners pick a category and then grind the same route for months to shave seconds off it, using glitches and skips wherever the category permits them. Any per cent means finishing by whatever route is fastest with no requirement to touch optional content, while a hundred per cent run means collecting everything the game counts. Leaderboards verify submissions on video, which is why so much of this sits on YouTube and Twitch in the first place. For a channel it produces two very different things: long unedited attempt archives, and tightly edited explainers that pull in people who have never played the game.
