It began life as a standalone podcast host, Spotify bought it in 2019, rebranded it Spotify for Podcasters in March 2023, then renamed the whole thing Spotify for Creators in November 2024. It hosts your audio free, generates the RSS feed that carries the show to Apple Podcasts and everywhere else, and reports listeners, completion and demographics. Video episodes and the partner payout programme run through it too. The trade is control of the feed. Keep your own copy of every episode file, and know how to redirect your RSS long before you need to.
