Clout chasing

The accusation covers a range: manufactured drama with a bigger creator, a reaction video timed to somebody's worst week, showing up at an event to be filmed near someone famous, taking a side in an argument that has nothing to do with you.
It gets levelled far more often than it is earned, because covering a story inside your own subject area looks identical from outside. The line most people draw is whether the video would exist at all with the other person's name removed from it. Audiences gathered this way tend to arrive for the fight and leave when it ends. Even the people using the tactic describe it as short-term.
