Comment mining
Also called: mining the comments, comment research
Every comment section is a research panel that has already told you what it wants. Mining it means reading on purpose: questions asked more than once, arguments people keep having, the phrasing they reach for, the thing they say the video failed to cover. Those become topics, titles and thumbnail text. A rival's comments work the same way and often better, because their audience is describing a gap in somebody else's coverage. Work from what people wrote and leave the individuals out of it. Never repurpose somebody's story without asking. The obvious limit is that commenters are a small and unusual slice of everyone who watched, so twenty loud requests are not a mandate.
