Email sequence
Also called: welcome sequence, drip campaign, automation
Someone joins the list and the first message arrives immediately, then a second a day or two later, then a third, on a schedule you set once and leave alone. A welcome sequence normally delivers whatever was promised at signup, explains who you are, points at your best work and makes one offer. It runs whether or not you are at your desk. The first email is usually the most-read thing that person will ever get from you, so put the material that matters in messages 1 and 2 rather than saving it for message 6.
