Reupload

Reuploading means publishing the same video a second time. The original URL goes, along with its views, watch time, comments, likes and any position it held in search, and the replacement begins with nothing.

That price is worth paying rarely. A genuine mistake baked into the file, a broken audio mix or a name misspelled on screen, can justify it in the first hours after publishing while there is little to lose. A video that simply underperformed does not, because the fix there is the title and the thumbnail, and both can be changed on the existing upload for free.

A copyright claim is its own case. The same audio draws the same claim.
