Brand Deals, Sponsorship & Business
Channel sale
Also called: selling a channel, channel acquisition, channel flipping
A real market exists here, running through brokers, marketplaces and private deals, and it is the usual exit for faceless and cash-cow channels built as businesses from the start. Where the channel sits on a Brand Account, ownership can be handed over using YouTube's own controls; otherwise the deal means transferring the underlying Google account, which is messier and riskier for both sides. Valuation typically works off monthly profit across a trailing period. What buyers underestimate is how much of the performance was the person. A channel whose audience came for a particular face rarely holds its numbers once that face stops appearing.
